Welcome to Katherine Reeves food. This is the home of my new business and the place where you can find pictures, sample menus and more information about what I do. I moved to Mallorca in December 2023, after a few years of uncertainty and lots of soul searching. Katherine Reeves food will cater for wellness retreats and events in Mallorca and across the Balearic Islands. My style of cooking is nutritious, seasonal and of course, delicious. My focus is always on sourcing the highest quality ingredients as well as working in a way that is sustainable in every way - more on this in subsequent journal entries.

I started my first food business, Kat Bakes London, back in the UK in 2014. Ten years ago…wow! It started as a general baking business - I’d make cakes and other baked treats in my home kitchen which I’d sell at markets and to private customers. This evolved fairly quickly to supplying cafes in south west London as well as baking for an increasing number of more corporate clients. I moved into a shared commercial kitchen near my home (there were pros and cons to this!) and things kept going on this path for a while. Around 2017, I decided to shift my focus to wedding cakes. I’d been finding the endless trays of brownies, cookies and other small bakes had become a little uninspiring and wanted a focus that would fulfil my creativity more. I also found that working with engaged couples was just such a lovely experience. You get to work together for a prolonged period of time and there’s such a feeling of achievement in bringing together a cake flavour and design that works with the rest of the wedding day and perfectly reflects the couple’s personalities.  Until Covid hit, this remained my main focus. Prior to Covid, I had begun to offer mail order treats and these quickly became my main offering. Business was a little crazy during this time but we kept on top of it and even moved kitchens and began to co-run a cafe in Clerkenwell during the pandemic. Call me…crazy?! Anyway, I happily started back up with wedding cakes as the industry slowly returned and this is what I have been doing until my recent move.

I will continue to offer wedding cakes in Mallorca - it’s going to be interesting adapting my icing recipes to cope with the (much) warmer climate but I’m excited for the challenge. My wedding cakes are generally made with white spelt flour. I find the cake crumb to be so soft and the flavour a little more nutty. I also specialise in gluten free and vegan cakes. 


But back to the new business, Katherine Reeves food. The idea was born from my love of cooking healthy but exciting food, married with my interest in yoga, meditation, cacao and generally any practice that brings someone closer to themselves. The Balearics are a haven of wellness and I’ve been beyond excited to see the classes, events and workshops that are available to get involved with here. In the first few years of Kat Bakes London, I would supplement my income by working as a private chef - catering for dinner parties as well as arranging fridge fills for those who were looking for an easy way to eat a nutritious range of meals throughout the week. I also worked as an assistant for my friends at Tart London - helping them with onsite catering for photoshoots as well as assisting with their restaurant popup. I just love working with food and being around people enjoying delicious, nutritious, well thought out menus.

I offer a wide range of menus to suit any wellness event. Whether it’s a week long menu - with breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner options, as well as snacks and smoothies - or snacks and canapes for a one-off event such as a launch party or day retreat. You can find sample menus on my website or I have further options available to send over on request.
